| The outdoor environment at Teston & Wateringbury
Nursery Group is just as important as our indoor environment.
The pre-school routine is based on free flow sessions where the
children can choose to extend their play both in and outdoors, whatever
the weather!
Outdoor play offers children the opportunity to explore, use their
senses and be physically active and exuberant and also to appreciate
wildlife and the natural environment.
Our outdoor provision provides lots of rich and stimulating opportunities
for children to develop and learn. That's why we've invested in
lots of new outdoor equipment and a new outdoor space which includes
an all-weather surface for all year round play.
We've launched a Green Frog Club too. This nature club aims to
introduce every child to simple aspects of nature and the environment
through fun, interesting and challenging mini projects. For example,
as part of the planned activities we have created a sensory garden,
made and observed a bug garden and learned about recycling.

All children are members of the club and help to think
of ideas and plan our mini projects, as well as having hands-on
fun and experiences, learning through topics such as seasons, life
cycles and mini beasts.
We ask parents and carers to not only send their children
in appropriate clothing and shoes for in and outdoor play, but also
to add any ideas, resources, enthusiasm and helping hands to our
Green Frog activities.
