SUN SHINES ON SPORTS DAY

The sun shone for our end of term Sports Day on the village green in Teston on 16 July. After lots of races, including Mums' and Dads' races, everyone enjoyed a picnic and raised £287 through a raffle, tombola, cake sale and toys and book stall. A special thank you to PC Gary Shaw from the Rural Neighbourhood Team at Maidstone Police for attending the event too.

EXTRA FULL DAY SESSION

From September we will open for an extra full day session to meet demand for the 15 hours of free pre-school learning which parents of all three and four year olds will be entitled to claim.

This means we'll be open for three full day sessions (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 9.30am to 2.30pm as well as offering morning only sessions each weekday. Places are also available for two year olds

HAVING AN ICE TIME

The children were treated to a visit by an ice-cream van on 17 May as part of our Seaside theme this term. They are pictured with Mark from Marke's Ices of Gillingham. Delicious!

FATHER'S DAY

Due to the success of the Mother's Day craft activity session, we have organised a similar event to mark Father's Day. Details will be announced soon.

DRESSING UP FOR HAITI APPEAL
Dressing Up for Haiti

Children dressed up all week (1 - 5 February) to raise cash for the Haiti Earthquake Children's Appeal.

In return for donations to the appeal fund, the children swapped their usual pre-school sweatshirts for outfits ranging from firemen to fairies, policemen to princesses and superheroes to Snow White all week, raising a magnificent £78 in the process.

Well done everybody!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT SUCCESS

Our end of term concert on 16 December was a big success. All the children were stars and we also raised £600 which is a great achievement. Thank you to everyone who helped to make the event such a success and especially our committee who organised the event together with the pre-school staff.

From January 2010 we are offering a limited number of places for 2 year olds. If you want to find out more or wish to visit the pre-school, please contact our Admission Secretary Jo Jordan on 01622 814908.

Outdoor Play Area - Before

Maidstone MP, the Rt Hon Ann Widdecombe, officially opened our new outdoor play area with some of our children on Thursday 2 April 2009.

She was joined by Teston Parish Council Olive Oxley, Village Hall Chairman Alan Perkins and Wateringbury Primary School headteacher Noreen Vinall for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

We have transformed the outdoor area over the winter by levelling and returfing the grassed area and installing a new artificial surface to ensure the children can play outside all year round, come rain or shine.

The opening ceremony was followed by an Easter Egg Hunt.
