Teston and Wateringbury Nursery Group - About Us

Our pre-school is based at Teston Village Hall and has been providing high quality care and education for 2 to 5 year old children since 1966. We are registered by Ofsted and we are also members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance.

Pre School Learning Alliance
We have a dedicated team of nine at our pre-school. Their collective experience and expertise at our pre-school spans almost 60 years. This level of commitment helps to create a very stable environment for our children.

Teston & Wateringbury Nursery Group Staff

We operate a Key Person system where a particular member of staff is assigned to each child. Each Key Person aims to form a strong relationship with the child and his/her family and monitors the child's progress regularly.

An active Parental Management Committee oversees the management of the pre-school and also organises fundraising events to enable the pre-school to buy new equipment and to fund new projects. Our nursery group is a registered charity (No. 1044257) and a non profit making organisation.

We positively encourage parents/carers to get involved with their children's learning and development by joining the committee and working in partnership with us at all times.

We pride ourselves on providing:

  • Quality pre-school care and education tailored to the needs of individual children
  • Lots of fun and the chance to make friends with other children and adults
  • Carefully planned child-led as well as adult-led activities to encourage the all-round development of each and every child

Our Mission:

  • To provide high quality, affordable and accessible pre-school care and education for local families in a safe, fun and stimulating environment which promotes equality and values diversity
  • To work in partnership with parents to help their children to achieve their individual potential and to develop into independent, confident, caring young people
